I am a 40/m, technically im about 50 miles west of Chicago. Educated, employed, soon to be single, and have a very bright 9 year old daughter. I'm 5'10", overweight, but losing weight. I have tattoos and want more. And my goatee is rather long.

Ok so those are usally the deal killers so I figured I'd get them out there first.

You are still reading, hopefully. This is the first time i have been out on my own living alone (except for when I have my daughter).

I have many hobbies and interests, way too many to list. Some are the outdoors from fishing, camping, hanging out around a camp fire to cooking on a grill, smoker, or open fire. I like animals of all kinds but being in an apartment one cat is as much as I need. One I move into a house if the future ill get a dog or two. Maybe setup some fish tanks.

I love music of all kinds, I go in spurts as to what I listen to. Got spotify? I love sharing playlists.

I enjoy Netflix and Amazon prime, and playing switch. I am also into remote control cars and drones.

I am very mechanical, and do as much of my own maintenance and repairs as I can. Both on my truck, boat, and previously the house (which I'm giving up). Also the same way at work, I fix the machines and devices I work with, plus what others ask of me (for some reason we do not have a maintenance department here, so I get a lot of stuff passed off on me, that I really should not be doing, should be concentrating on my work).

I am pretty shy at first, but open up pretty easy. I have several anxiety, depression, and ADHD. All are well controlled, and since moving out on my own I seems to be doing much better, since removing myself from a toxic environment. I can hold up my end of a conversation.

Why female I'm sure you are woundering. You are just so much easier to talk to. I have enough guy friends going back to grade school. Most of the guys I have talked to on here just want things or ask things I'm not willing to share. Also for the most part females are much nicer.

I'll admit I'm a geek or need, and can geek out about things that interest me or I have knowledge of. I'm somewhat of a history buff.

Honestly right now not looking for anything romantic, after such a long relationship I feel I need to heal before getting back into a romantic relationship.

With all that said, there is so much more to me, so much more for me to share. I'm willing to talk about anything. However I am not political, or religious, but have had conversations about both, just not my favorite subject.
