i’ve started a new job in a new area and country i don’t want to be in and i’m really lonely right now. i’m living with an 18 year old and a 30-something guy who spends most of his time in his room. they’re lovely but let’s just say it’s not exactly exhilarating so far.

I think i’m easy to get on with and i’ll be the first to admit that i’ve had my issues. Anxiety, insecurity, depression, body dysmorphia, low self esteem - you name it, i can probably tick it off. I did however start on a journey of self improvement and through a mix of support, acknowledgment, therapy and now medication (science, bitch!) i’ve managed to overcome a lot of what was once a definite drawback and difficultly in my life. Of course it’s an ongoing process and i’ve only in the last few days started therapy and meds. anything could yet happen. I’ve hit the lowest of lows several times and the only thing that kept me from ending my life was fear of it hurting. that’s sad, but just the truth.

I’ve had my own business, i’ve lived abroad and i’d love to do so again! I want to see the beautiful world we live in and i want to experience it as much as i can.

I’m a horse guy, or if you want to use the la-de-da term, I’m an equestrian! I manage a Dressage yard for some pretty well known Dressage riders in England. The work involves riding, socialising and a lot of picking up some of the nicest smelling poop and most expensive(?) in the whole of the animal kingdom. This, ladies and gents, is just a fact. Horses are a part of my life and i have... soon to be 2. A 12 year old mare and her wee baby foal.

Birding is a newfound passion of mine, an ex got me into it and i fucking love it. Did i mention i swear? Whoops 👀

I want to have birding holidays and riding holidays. Can you do birding on horseback? …Let’s go for it… i’m no expert and as my name on here suggests, i’m fond of Swallows. They’re happy birds who love to dip and zoom around. I’ve learned a lot about birds and i genuinely love them. I used to think summer was my favourite season but i think Spring may be too because of the amount of birds i see around right now.

i’m an atheist! i’m also a leftist, anti-brexit, anti-tory independence loving, kilt-wearing, haggis-munching Scot! That last one isn’t necessarily a euphemism either. Maybe no quite there wi the deep fried mars bars though, ken wa’ a mean?

Distance wise don’t care if you’re in America or on Mars, i’m happy to make it work. I’m also learning German as a second language as i never appreciated languages before and screw it, i love Germany! In part because i learned a lot of their history pre-world wars in the early 1800s from the Holy Roman Empire to unification with Prussia. That Von Bismarck fella is quite the guy!

I enjoy photography but it’s been a long time since i partook in that hobby and i no longer have a camera :(

I enjoy music, TV and film. I like going to the theatre. I love an excuse to dress up in my kilt and… hmm. favourite artist is Lorde and favourite movie is The Prestige.

What else is there? You’d never know it to look at me but my 6 pack is a well hidden secret. In fact, some say that it’s so well hidden that princess Zelda might even be trapped in there somewhere! i really like walks and wandering in new places. a holiday to me isn’t going somewhere and just sitting on my ass for it all. i want to explore and see the place i go.

What am i looking for? Long term. Ideally someone who is horsey, birdy, in europe maybe, or anywhere. someone with an accent! just be human and have communication skills. be a good person and don’t toy with me.
