Greetings & salutations!

What a lovely evening this is! The windows are open, finally, finally, finally - after such a long and arduous and trying winter (I think they said it was the 3rd snowiest in recorded history?) it feels like such a beautiful treat to be lying in bed, cocooned inside the blankets, feeling the cool night air flow over me. sigh

I'm writing this post in search of a romantic connection, though I'm in no rush and prefer to take plenty of time to get to know a person and to have them get to know me. The best love affairs are rooted in friendship, wouldn't you agree?

That Hemingway quote in my title really sums up what I'm looking for. And, to continue the trend of quoting arseholes who are also literary geniuses, I'll add another from Bukowski: "... and we are in bed together laughing and we don't care about anything..."

Here are some things I'm into:

• the smell of petrichor after the rain
  
• the feeling of apricity in the winter
  
• charcuterie boards of all shapes and sizes
  
• cuddles from my cat
  
• books. new books, old books, hardcover, paperback. being around books. libraries, bookstores, tent sales. reading books. smelling books.
  
• old leather that's been beaten and broken in
  
• long, hot, candlelit baths
  
• how sunflowers yearn for the sun
  
• the pursuit of always and forever trying to learn something new every single day
  
• long phone calls with lots of laughter
  
• poetry - reading it, writing it, falling asleep with a poetry book pressed to my cheek
  
• meandering through a long, random walk or a long, random drive
  
• music all day everyday always playing forever and singing along even though I can't carry a tune in a bucket
  

A bit about me: I'm 36, I coparent 2 teens who live with me half the week, I have a pretty stressful career that I love, I'm average height and full figured - greenish eyes and ever changing hair (currently blonde and just past my chin), very 420 friendly, socially smoke cigarettes (really need to quit), not a big drinker.
