So this is a kinda repost with a bit of added information, basically in the form of a disclaimer. As the rest of the post will attest I am a 35-year-old guy with very little relationship experience to speak of. I just want to be forward with that fact. I don't actually know what I am looking for in a relationship because I have honestly not been in any that have lasted long enough or been committed enough to actually conceptualize what I am looking for. As I noted in another post my ideal relationship is highly colored by television and movies which I know is not reality or even conducive to stability. So what I am looking for, right now, is a relationship mentor as much as a dating partner. I am not trying to put up any walls or preconceptions about what things may come of any relationship, just understand that I am figuring things out as I go even though I am significantly behind the curve.
So…. I guess I will start with my dating vital stats in case there are any red flags.
Name: David
Age: 35
Location: Georgia, north specifically
Occupation: Small Animal (Mostly cats and dogs) Veterinarian, Graduated May of '22
Personality: Introverted, big time. If you don't like being around someone who is really good at keeping quiet, I am probably not a good fit. I tend to be a bit blunt and to the point, mostly because I appreciate it coming back the other way. If there are issues it is better to know about them and be able to work through them rather than just guessing.
Religion: Agnostic Atheist with an areligious outlook. Meaning I default to a pure atheist conception of the world. Making assumptions based on religious teachings is just not how I roll. For every time religion is used to justify moral behavior, it can also be used to rationalize truly repugnant behavior. Take ownership of both your good and bad qualities.
Hobbies: Video games (very eclectic but tend to play single-player games, do enjoy a good co-op game with the right people, not a fan of competitive games unless it is like Mario Kart or similar experiences), Cooking (always looking for new recipes to try), Animation (of most types, as long as it is not intended for young children or gratuitously violent I tend to find something to enjoy), History Podcasts (my queue is overflowing), Books (cannot really go wrong wandering around a book store or a library), Zoos/Aquariums/Museums (there is just something about well-made exhibits and interesting animals)
Dating experience: Very very limited, particularly for my age. Not trying for pity dates or to chase off people, just understanding that I don't have "dating common sense," overwhelmingly my relationship sense is heavily weighted to my professional relationships which are going to have a lot of different rules compared to personal relationships.
And about yourself: Honestly no specific criteria. Looks, ethnicity, age, interests, outlook, and background are all up for consideration. I think I might be more comfortable with someone who doesn't have children at this time. While I am okay with online for now I am hoping to meet at some point.
Wrote more than I expected but hopefully, I've covered the big traits that you want to know about, if not happy to chat and answer questions.
