I haven't dated in a long while, and for the most part, I've become very good at being single.
But lately, I realized that there's still a part of me that wants to share my life with someone. From the most mundane things like deciding which fish to get for dinner to more important life moments like celebrating each other's triumphs and holding on to each other in tough times. I want to share a knowing look with someone from across the room, knowing we've got each other's back.
I miss building-- building a life with someone who would see me for me (not a fantasy he created in his head) and has the wisdom to know things will not be perfect but we can work on it.
I've always thought I'd meet my person at the library, but lately, the only people I see at the library are homeless (no offense to homeless people, but most of them don't want to be disturbed anyway).
Although clearly a romantic, I'm sensible enough to seek a relationship that will be sustainable. More than grand gestures (lavish gifts and big words), I wish to find a great teammate. That means someone:
- emotionally and mentally capable of building a stable relationship
- with a good sense of humor
- whose intentions are aligned with his words and actions (integrity and sincerity)
- with good hygiene and doesn't smoke
- affectionate (snuggling and cuddling are important)
-who knows what he wants in life
I have an international background and travel a lot between the US and Europe, so your location wouldn't matter much.
I'm childfree, but I'm quite good with kids so I wouldn't mind if you had one as long as things are uncomplicated with the mother of your child and you're a responsible father.
I enjoy learning new things and exploring new places while reveling in the comfort of routines (tea in the morning, a walk by the water, dancing at least once a week, cooking while listening to podcasts, a siesta, that weekly drink with a friend).
Some keywords: documentaries, long walks, greenery, dogs, horses, partner dancing, siestas, Rilke, blues, F1, cooking, Pessoa, Lisbon, Hermann Hesse, the smell of rain, fresh flowers, 80% cacao.
