The first day of quitting

Holy shit, I’m not even at 12 hours yet and last zyn was at 10am and the brain is dizzy. Things that are helping.

Five Mint Gum Movement/Walking Eating more food/favorite foods Organization, laundry, dishes, bedroom etc. Reading posts on here of successful people who quit.

My mouth is watering and craving one so bad. I woke up at 7:30am, pop zyn 6mg wintergreen, coffee, work for 60 mins, line change the zyn to fresh pouch. So basically on the hour every hour I’m line changing a fresh 6mg. On average we’re awake for 14-16 hours a day, so average is a Tin a day. Plenty of Saturdays or PTO where I’ve double barreled 2 x 6mg zyns while drinking playing golf etc. most I ever did was 2 and half 6mg cans in a day. So sick, not really…

I’ve used chew/pouches/now zyn, never smoked cigs, few cigars once in a blue moon, never vaped.

16 years since my first long cut dip and writing this post to keep my mind off zyn for a few minutes. I never had this anxiety or headache from long cut or tobacco pouches. I’ve been on Zyn for like 3 years, basically when Covid hit I found it and make the switch from Grizz WG pouches as my teeth were stained and wanted to stop, so went to zyn thinking it was “better” for you and now I’m more addicted to nicotine, specifically zyn, more than anything. I’ll be hammered drunk and if I dont have zyn im calling Uber or making someone drive me to get it. Religious zyn user and reward member.

It’s a crazy feeling, only time I was able to take a break was during wisdom teeth surgery where I was on other narcotics to numb me.

I have to stop because when I play hockey now I feel like I’m going to faint and my anxiety is so bad I can go to sleep with out melatonin or getting a few drinks in. The anxiety, heart palpitations, the dizziness, all this makes me feel like I’m going to die any minute and my hangovers are a lot worse over the last 3 years since the switch. Could be age too, I’m going to be 32 next year.

Anyways, this has least kept my mind busy, but I just hope I can make past day 3 since everyone says that’s the worst. I really hope I can make it to 10am tomorrow because I have to be in the office, which is an easy trigger to do zyn vs working from home.
