I wouldn't of thought after being a month sober things would be looking up as much as it has. I've been struggling to get my finances back in order since I last relapsed. After busting my ass working 80 hours a week for overtime this last month I'm finally back to a comfortable position. A month ago I was a broken, hopelessly addicted individual that was on the verge of homelessness and losing everything else with it. I was in a shit ton of credit card debt, cleared out my savings except for like 5 dollars and barely had eaten because all my food money went to tia. My car was running on fumes and I barely was functioning at work. Since I decided to get sober, I've gotten a raise at work, paid off all of my cc debt, and even got caught up on rent. I was able to put money in my savings and God damn does it feel good to be out of this hole I dug for myself. I sure hope I sustain my sobriety so I don't have to go through that pain again. I never felt like such a POS when my landlord asked for rent and I'm just staring at him drugged out my mind like I don't have it. Thankfully he didn't kick me out due to being a good tenant for 5 years but I doubt he'd let that slide again. I've also been socializing more than I normally do and am actually going to a concert tonight with some coworkers. I am normally shy as hell and isolated as hell. My job is overnight and by myself. I at the most have 30 minutes of conversation with someone at my work and that's basically my social life. So it feels good to break out of my shell a little bit. I'm sorry for the ramble but I felt so good about these changes that are happening since my sobriety and I was wanting to tell someone lol. I also hope this can show those thinking about getting sober it's completely possible and you can repair the damage with hard work and determination. I wish everyone good luck and I truly hope everyone can successfully best this demon
