Struggling to Quit because of school and studying
Post Body

24 years old in Grad school, have been vaping since 17. I'm ready to quit and want to so I could be healthier overall (I'm in good shape and don't have any pressing issues, but I want the clear mind and clear lungs i hear people talk about). My issue is the stress that being in law school provides and the routine/habits that I've been in throughout college and law school of using my vape while I do school work.

I quit last Wednesday... so a week ago (although I did use my friends vape three times while I was drunk on Monday night) It's been tough but hasn't been the end of the world. The cravings have affected me but it hasn't been bad until right now. Here's why: I've been on fall break, so I haven't had much work or grinding to do. I haven't needed to sit down for 6 hours a day and chip away at law readings/cases/outlining, so I think because of that I haven't felt the reliance towards my vape. Now, today, I decided that I need to catch up on some work and get ahead on some other stuff before break ends, and I haven't been able to focus for more than 5 minutes without thinking to reach for my vape that isn't there and then getting distracted and pissed off. I haven't got anything done, I'm unable to do work I really need to be doing.

So, I hope you can see my problem. I'm really nervous that my grades are going to suffer. We are already halfway through the term, and I've slacked off a bit, so I really need to be on top of my shit and finish strong in November and early December. The change in my study habits and bodies reliance on nicotine could really mess up my grades.

Is it stupid to think that I need to vape to keep my grades in order and to maintain my ability to do work right now. I'm happy that I proved to myself I can go a week without using the vape, but I'm worried about my academic output now. Would it be a bad idea to continue vaping and then quit after this term ends. For what its worth, I'll have about a month off between the end of this term and the next, and school really doesn't get hard til a month into a new term anyway... so pretty much 2 months to adjust and get used to not having the vape to study/do work if I quit again in December after finals.
