Hey y’all. I’ve been addicted to Afrin for about 8 years. I grew up suffering from extreme allergies and also just so happened to be born in the “wheat Capitol of the world” so as you can imagine it was allergy central. Eventually my mom took me to see and ENT and after several meetings he performed sinus surgery in me and fixed my deviated septum. However, it honestly never really helped my issues much.
In the present, years of Afrin use later, I have still been having allergy and sinus issues. Sometimes my nasal passages will close off. Like 100%. Can not breathe through my nose at all. It feels like the walls have inflamed to the point I can’t breathe, which has made the possibility of catching Covid all the more stressful. I have enough breathing issues lol!
It’s pretty bad. My grandma has used it for your, my mom has used it for years, and I picked it up and never quit. I have to order huge boxes of it from Amazon to meet my nasal needs.
I’d really like to get off of the stuff both for my health and to save money. But honestly I’m pretty unsure where to start. It’s become such a staple of my life and honestly it’s not like my nose functioned much better before. Any advice?
