RA to Clerk Trainer

Has anyone ever done it? RA is super stressful but I feel like it’s preparing me to be a 2a. I hate the idea of ER though and know clerk trainers can also go straight to 2a and have similar pay. I find that I enjoy the job the most when I am teaching people things so I feel as if Clerk trainer would be perfect. I don’t think it’s a lateral move so would I have to demote to a clerk then promote up to Clerk trainer?
