This happened a year or two ago when they last revised their sales tax processing, so after fixing it then I reverted back to the old method. I stupidly forgot about that experience and last week allowed QBO to switch me to the new method they just released (not sure when, within the last month or two?).
And my reporting/filing in QBO is screwed up again and here I am trying to fix it. I insist on doing my QBO books manually with data entry for everything - not automated feeds. It shouldn't be getting screwed up like this. I'm seriously thinking of migrating my books away from QBO to another software package because of this.
So far it's letting tweak the tax recordings for the first half of the year that I collected but not sure if it's going to allow me to record it as paid because it's only showing the current period. This particular state requires me to file/pay on a half-year basis and since the first half of the year is done, I guess QBO thinks I'm not required to pay it? I don't know. Has this happened to anybody else here, and how did you fix it? I tried pulling up their online chat help but the bot says it's not working today and directed me to the support forum. I figured I'd ask here instead.
