Thereâs an interest to learn about the act of cruising both from academic sources and shared personal standpoints.Â
To those that are familiar or semi-familiar with cruising, would you be open to answering some or all of the below? Youâre welcome to message me directly and these questions are open to all.
How did you first learn about it?
What is your understanding of how such spaces form both in regards to rural and metropolitan areas?
What is the inclusivity of the act of cruising and cruising spaces?Â
Any recommendations for further understanding?
A friend pointed me towards Michel Foucault, âOf Other Spacesâ and Kevin Moore, âCruising and Transcendence in the Photographs of Minor White.â I believe both texts are easily accessible online if anyone's interested. "The Place Between Our Bodies" directed by Michael Wallin and "Hattie Goes Cruising" directed by Konstantin Bock are on the to-watch list. Cruising Pavilion has also been a great source of information.
