I've successfully installed Qubes on another system, but am having issues on my current computer with Qubes 3.2. The installer hangs, locking up the machine completely, at the same point each time: "Installing Boot Loader." The complete lockup renders me unable to do anything except power cycle the machine.
Z97-Pro m/b, I7-4790, empty hard drive with Qubes doing the partitioning, 16 gigs memory.
I've double checked sha256 and md5sum on the installer, and tried different install media (usb sticks). Even tried a completely different destination hard drive. No difference.
My googling has been relatively unhelpful, but seems to get hints, all from several years ago and mostly with straight fedora installs, that it may be somethng uefi related. Some suggestions hint at buggy uefi bioses and to update the bios, but mine is at the latest, and I'm not convinced that's the issue.
This same computer runs Arch linux and Windows 10 with no issues (on different hard drives, not hooked up atm). No issues with any other install.
Any thoughts? After many hours of reading and trying different things I'm at the point of just accepting my fate that Qubes won't and can't work on this particular computer.
