Hi!
I'm trying to improve our QA department. Especially because we're now moving towards an agile model of development and will be releasing builds every fortnight.
To that end, we've split the department into 2 teams. Debug and Develop i.e. bug fixing and implementing new features (respectively).
The problem is that all of our documentation was just excel sheets before and now splitting into 2 teams creates the problem that one team doesn't know the particulars of how another team is handling testing.
For example: We have a giant document for testing everything in our software. However some features are only in build 2.1. The Develop team have been marking these in green. The entire Develop team knows this. No-one in the debug team knows this. So for every new practise. The teams have to spend large amounts of time communicating all the things they do to help the other team understand the state of the documentation.
Is there a software package out there that can do this task automatically. i.e. take a massive checklist of test cases and automatically delete/hide any tests that are not in the build that the tester is working on. So that for document preparation the Debug team only needs to open the document and select the build that they are testing and be presented with all the cases that are pertinent to that build only?
Thanks
