At some point in the late spring I may be leading a study session on the historic ties that Friends have to the quality of industriousness, the benefits of capitalism and philanthropy. Do you know of books, tracts or people that you could suggest who could either help me of step in themselves?
Aside from believing such ties and values exist I am posting for assistance and not to create debate. Not am I suggesting that there is any particular way to hold true to the past and respond to current conditions as well.
Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions.

That is so interesting, because I have always felt Quakers are diametrically opposed to capitalism. They believe in simplicity, fairness, truth and the environment, and while it is possible to be a fair trade capitalist company, it feels like it is better aligned to socialism and trade unions and cooperatives.
