I’ve been to several Meeting Houses now and none seem to be an escape from day-to-day social posturing before and after Silent Worship.
I’m disinterested in idle “chit-chat” but that seems to be the most interesting part for others.
Am I a “Bad Quaker” for wishing only to walk in when the doors open, sit down, be in silent worship with other attenders/friends, listen to announcements, and then leave after all is done?
My meeting doesn't have any pressure to stay for coffee, there is no chatting beforehand, as I always turn up at the start of the meeting when people are already silent and after the messages at the end I make a polite excuse and leave.
