I would like to thank all the members of this subreddit who have helped me with the care of quaker. My family got him when i was a kid and unfortunately the lives of ourselves got in the way of properly caring for him. I am now a teenager and trying to give him the best life and with all of your guys’ suggestions and advice i have improved his health and life tremendously. The first picture was taken a year ago and the second, a week ago. His feathers are brighter (more saturated more blue feathers!) and no longer full of keratin because of more regular baths (spray baths that you all helped me figure out) and new supplements. He is no longer as cage aggressive and i can now bond with him. He is 18 and i am trying to give him the best rest of his life i can. ❤️ (also yes the marks on his play area is from chewing and we’ve gotten him some more wooden toys to prevent this. the wet spot is from him rubbing his beak after eating/drinking.)
this is so beautiful. i worked with my quaker who was a surrender at the bird store i work at. he is now bonded to me and loves me sooo much. be sure to try to socialize him because i didnt with mine and now he hates everyone but me😭
