Hey all,

I recently put in an upgrade request. Didn’t check in online and Got to the airport to check in. Guy told me he can say the request and they will upgrade at gate if successful.

Long story short, got to the gate and they didn’t scan my boarding pass. I just asked if there’s a chance of upgrade. They said they had already upgraded two people on the flight.

My question is, how does this upgrade at gate work? How would they know if I would be upgraded if they didn’t scan my boarding pass at the gate? I was one of the first to board so it all seems confusing..

Wondering if I should get to the gate and speak to them before boarding to see if I would be upgraded? Any help or insight would be amazing!
