Hi, I am Gold status and need to fly from Melb to London in early October. A flex Econ airfare flown off-peak (we'd, back sun) is being paid for, and I'm hoping to use points to upgrade to business. So, questions:
**Which route will max my chances of an upgrade (via Perth, Singapore, Dubai or something more exotic?) *Is any of the business class experiences worth seeking out because they are particularly noteworthy? **Is it possible to get an points upgrade to business on a codeshare say by buying a Cathay Pacific codeshare ticket?
Any other tips apprrciated as this isy first attempt at a business class upgrade!
Thanks, that's really handy info. Which website do you use to check the load?

Thank you, I appreciate the detailed response!
Follow-up question : does it impact my business class upgrade chance if I book Perth - London return separately (my reason is I need the 4 segments to be eligible for status level again next year)
