Calculating volume under a DEM limited by a polygon
Post Body

So here's a problem I've spent a good portion of today bashing my head against.

I have a cliff face. A section of it has failed and been removed. I have a DEM from before the failure. I would like to draw a polygon which traces the failed area, and use that to calcuate a volume of the rock that has been lost. The topography is highly irregular so I can't just ballpark it.

I have no idea how to make QGIS do this.

Any ideas gratefully received!
