My cousin is unemployed in a pretty remote forest area in Scandinavia. I figured out that there is need for mapping services, e.g. for renewable energy in the region. Waiting times to get a freelance doing the jobs are reportedly about 6-12 months. My cousin has originally studied geography, so that would be a good match, even though she did not really work in the field after finishing the studies. But she is used to outdoors activities and some forest works.

I guess she needed to get used to QGIS and other software tools and have a suitable hardware (tablet?)? What is needed for a good start?
