I think my QMIL is trying to prepare us?
Post Body

We have been NC with my MIL since May. It had been a long time coming, but Q was the straw that broke the camel’s (or, in this case, husband’s) back.

In the last several days, we have received 4 completely unsolicited packages from Amazon, addressed to him. At first I thought it might be a brushing scam, but there are no fraudulent reviews in his name and they’re all from different sellers, and no suspicious activity on any of our linked cards (although he updated our passwords nonetheless).

When the 2 most recent packages arrived, I added the items to the “wtf do I do with this” pile and it hit me - it looks like an emergency food stash. We have received: • a bulk box of toddler applesauce pouches • powdered greens supplement • 5 lbs oatmeal • 10 lbs dry beans • 30 lbs brown rice

I legitimately think his mom is sending us stuff to prep us for “The Storm”. There are no receipts or anything, so I can’t return it to sender. We’ll donate anything we don’t need or won’t use to a shelter or food bank, but I’m frustrated that we can’t stop her from sending us stuff since she knows our address. We flatly refuse to break NC to ask if it’s her.
