My specific use case: Programming experience should not be needed to create new macros/tests.
-Primary use is as web form filling/data extraction -Should be able to connect to flat file. -Should be able to record and playback correctly in multiple browsers. - Will be used to perform repetitive tasks, such as creating user accounts, will be using csv or excel files. - Stable -Easy to create, record, distribute/manage from a central location - Should be able to connect to a database for additional functionality. - Should be able to extract data from fields. - Fields may be dynamic. Ie in a slightly different position on the page and/or tagged differently per account. -Error reporting/tracking/logging is required. -Web pages load at different speeds based on size of an account- must be as efficient/quick as possible while also being able to dynamically adjust to long load times. -account logouts do occur- must know to use a stored login/password when account is logged out. - Must be a stable product with confidence it will be around for many years -Should allow playback from a centrally managed location and local datasources. -should allow multiple instances of test/macro to be used at the same time. -MUST be easy to learn, use, and manage.
I am trying to also understand what level of expertise Selenium requires, and what Imacros Enterprise edition can do or offers that any Selenium flavor cannot- to justify the expense.
