...it's that even in a regular machine where the bottom rarity tiers have enough variety that even if they are generally bad, they might be functional for SOMETHING or other here or there. A laser here, an RCV boost there, a delay, a haste, an unmatchable or awoken or bind clear.... That's not the case with Valentine's.
Literally every five-star is an unlock, board change and enhance. Even Sakuya, who elsewhere would have a different active from the rest of her pantheon.
Literally every six-star is a spike, just a spike that's it – with kind of a long cooldown even if it's four turns. (At least the equips are sort of passable, mostly – Carat for the SB > Facet for the team HP > Sheen IMO).
Since the five-stars are just shy of ten percent each, and the 6-stars another 8.73% apiece – the problem with this machine over all the other seasonals even isn't ONLY that "oh no there's only about 25% chance of getting something maybe decent and 3-6% for the best stuff"...
...but in this particular machine it's "I have a 75% chance of getting essentially one of two cards in different colors".
