Post Body

We are a couple in our early 30s and looking to spend a relaxing time with the locals on the unbeaten path. We are only locked down to staying in OSJ Feb 9-11, the rest of our stay is pretty open. We are going to rent a car when we leave San Juan. A few suggestions we received are: Rincon, Vieques, and Culebra.

However, transportation to Vieques and Culebra seems limited and I don’t want to take the gamble of a ferry ride. Currently, it seems there are only flights out of San Juan to Vieques and Culebra. I called Air Flamenco and got nothing. Am I missing something?

Feb 9-11, we are locked in to stay in Old San Juan. After this, it’s pretty open. We had originally planned to spend 2-3 days in the Northeast Corner of PR. However, with limited travel to Culebra and Vieques, it’s sounding less and less desirable. I’ve been becoming more intrigued with the West Coast. We originally planned to spend 2 days in Rincon. However, research is showing there is a vast amount of beaches, R&R, and sites with far less tourists. Because of this, we may spend 3 nights in Rincon. What are some must see/experience activities on the West Coast?

That leaves our last 4 nights open. Should we spend 3 nights in Luquillo/Fajardo area where we can visit El Yunque, make an attempt at a ferry to Vieques, Bio Bay, or just chill at the beach? What are some of your suggestions? Did we miss any major areas?
