I’m getting a pay increase and new responsibilities at my job...how much should I ask for?
Post Body

Last year my pay was $21 an hour , which was around $41k. I was at my job for about two years. I am in-house PR. I have in total four years of PR/Marketing/Social media experience with a bachelors degree in Marketing.

I’m literally the right hand to the VP of PR. I have done almost everything PR wise and I sort of “manage” another person in our department. I’m also planning on receiving more training.

I was already underpaid but I took the job with the hopes of mobility.

With my new responsibilities I’m hoping I could get at least $55-60k but that may be too much from $41k. I get paid less than the person I managed.

However, I do live in NYC and other people in similar positions as me are paid this much at my company.

Idk it’s my first time ever negotiating a pay raise. I don’t want to get too crazy but I do want my worth.
