I want to get into PR / advertising and was wondering what my best route would be. I’m interested in any sort of account planning / management positions or corporate communications just nothing in a creative field.
With 2 years of internship experience at a fast growing startup, I’ve had the opportunity to handle brand management, content creation, event planning, client managing, media / data analytics and publicity / promotion. I’m also secretary for my fraternity handling communications and event planning.
My goal is to skip any creative positions as I have a big portfolio from my internship and go straight into any junior / executive / manager for accounts at a PR or Advertising agency. Ideally any position managing clients, securing media or generating publicity.
Am I going about this right or are their steps / formalities or processes I’m overlooking?
Any feedback helps, thanks in advance!
Edit: I should mention I’m a senior in the east coast area looking to work in any market.
