Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on how the Umich Ford school MPP compares against the Georgetown McCourt MPP?
My main areas of interest are in international policy, security, health, and gender. I'm specifically looking for any insights on faculty, research opportunities, employment opportunities, alumni networks, and how degrees from these two schools are perceived in the employment market? Especially for someone looking to enter into social impact consulting.
Are there any clear advantages that one offers over the other? I've received a very substantial amount of funding from UMich along with a fellowship, and very limited funding from Georgetown, so finances may be a factor in my decision.
I've also recently turned down offers from SIPA and Harris, and have now narrowed my decision down to these 2 schools. Primarily because I didn't love how large the cohort at SIPA is, and felt like the Harris school's curriculum is too rooted in maths and econ (both of which I'm terrified of).
Any thoughts on the above would be much appreciated!
Edit: I am a lawyer, and international student coming to the US for grad school. I've also received an offer from Fletcher for the MALD program. However I'm very hesitant about it because the name of the program may rule out certain employment opportunities for me, which specifically seek policy graduates. Should the nomenclature of the program be a consideration?
