Hi, I'm an international student from India with a training in law and advocacy. I hold a Master's in public international law from a top ranked UK University, and have 3 years of experience in law teaching and advocacy. I'm looking to pivot to public policy, with the end objective of a career in social impact consulting/ research and consulting roles as INGOs or the UN.
I have the following options: - Fletcher (MALD): 34k aid across 2 years - Ford (MPP): 1/4th tuition and a fellowship that given me 50 k across 2 years - Harris (MPP): 30 k across 2 year - SIPA (MPA): no funding.
I'm extremely intimidated by the core quant courses (especially at Harris), given that I have little to no formal training in math, stats, or related quant fields.
Additionally, I would like to stay and work in the US. Though I will be joining school as an international student, my partner who is currently in the US on an H1B visa and I would like to eventually get married so that I can remain in the country and also have work authorization under the H4 visa.
Any thoughts on how these programs compare, employability, and career opportunities they give one access to would be greatly appreciated!
My primary areas of interest are at the intersection of law and marginalization, tech policy and privacy rights, health policy, gender and sexuality.
Thanks in advance for your insights!
