My current situation is that I compulsively excite and stimulate my mind so that I can chase and ride trains of thought. This post is a good example, within my consciousness right now, I am currently hyper-focused like a laser on this topic. If my child walked in here and asked for a glass or water or told me the kitchen was on fire, I probably wouldn't notice.
This condition has lead me to just bull dozing past the things going on around me. I'd like to be more present and be more observant and less stuck following this wandering laser.
I feel like I've spent decades conditioning my mind to be an engineer. I'm good at engineering but bad at participating in the present moment.
Someone once told me that I should look into mushrooms because you can use them to reprogram your mind.
Do you have any insights on if this is possible and/or how to go about it?
