First trip was 10 years ago. I have done a metric fuck ton of LSD and shrooms over the course of these 10 years. Smoked a ton of weed as well. Now, I find that i have become extremely sensitive to psychedelics, marijuana included.
My favorite dose of acid to take back in the day was 4 tabs. It was extremely trippy of course but manageable. Nowadays, I find I get minor visuals off a half gram of shrooms (especially the penis envy variety). If i take a gram of shrooms, no matter what kind or what the potency is, I always get pretty decent visuals and experience a trip. (Can't comment on how acid affects me now, haven't taken it in 5 years)
Smoking weed has become like a mini psychedelic trip for me now. I used to smoke tons, now I take a few rips of a bong and I'm scared to take more. It's almost overwhelming how high i get.
My hypothesis is that i've dumped so many psychedelics in my brain over the years, that when i ingest even a little bit of a psychedelic substance, my brain is like "oh shit.. we're doing that thing again.. calling all cells, man your positions and let's get this train fuckin rolling!!!"
I feel like my brain has been trained to trip balls or something. I'm scared shitless to take the same amount of shrooms or acid I used to take when I first started experimenting. I feel like I can get to that same place with half the amount.
I'm not complaining, it's great for the wallet. I'm just wondering if anyone else experiences the same phenomenon. Would love to hear some of y'alls thoughts on this.
TL;DR: I've tripped a bunch. I've grown to become hypersensitive to psychedelics. Is reverse tolerance to psychedelics a thing?
