Are live truffles far more potent than dead ones?

Im gonna be having my first psychedelic expierence in a couple weeks. I ordered atlantis truffles from freshbox. They sat they’re still alive and more potent and the dossage they are recommending is 10 g for a good trip but other places say that 15g is good for beginners and will give ice you a good trip. Is this because the ones who are alive are more potent?
