How do you collaborate with therapists?

I know this sounds like a dumb question but....what exactly do you do? I'm a PGY-3, almost PGY-4 and still haven't figured it out. My program isn't great on the outpatient side so don't really have any guidance on this. I get therapists who contact me saying they'd like to discuss a mutual client. Cool, we set up a time to talk. And then there's...nothing to talk about? They seem to expect me to say something and vice versa. What exactly do you talk about with therapists?
