Aripiprazole as an adjunct to other dopamine antagonists?
Post Body

Seen this a few times recently in clinical practice but can’t find much in the literature.

Using a high affinity partial D2 agonist alongside D2 antagonists doesn’t make sense to me. Surely it would just decrease the effectiveness of the D2 antagonist by using up/blocking the D2 receptors?

I understand using it in low dose to reduce prolactin levels but not as an adjunct for psychosis treatment.
