Legality of trip sitting / guiding?

If a client brings an illegal psychedelic to a therapist session and the therapist sits for them during their trip, but the therapist did not provide or sell it to them, is there any illegality? Could a therapist advertise guide services on condition that client brings/provides the substances?
Sort of like BYOB?
