I am planning to do a guided high-dose psilocybin journey later this week. I've done a few guided mdma journeys before and each time it's been really helpful. I've touched on themes around self-love, trusting my partner, letting go of past traumas - cptsd from abusive dad and a SA when I was in my 20s. Each time, I've followed up with low doses of psilocybin in the days following (usually <1 g) which allowed me to go deeper with some of these topics. It's worked so well and there's a part of me that still thinks I can benefit from at least a few more of these trips to unpack and process other difficult experiences.
However, a few different people (a couple therapists I've worked with as well as another guide I've worked with) has suggested that I'd benefit a lot from a high dose psilocybin trip. It sounds like now that mdma has helped me look at some of these difficult topics, the psilocybin will show me / guide me / challenge me more to really deeply internalize these lessons, make changes I need to make, etc. I'm curious if people can share how their experiences on psilocybin differed from mdma.
I'm a bit anxious about this journey because it sounds like it's going to be harder than other ones I've had. I am trying to learn more so that I can calm my anxieties down a bit. I'll probably only do like 2-2.5g but still kinda scared about having a bad trip, being physically uncomfortable/ill, being in a dark place for a long time. Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!
trust it. don't fight it. don't try and control it.
that's all the advice i wish i had and needed before i got deep with it. would have saved a lot of adverse experiences.
