Hi newcomer on this sub! My wife and I have been discussing how we can move forward with some communication issues we both recognise in her relationship. She has come up with the idea of trying a 'self-guided' therapy session using ketamine, having read about 'guided'/professional couples therapy where K is used.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or even experiences on this? For disclosure, we are both what you would call 'experienced' recreational drug users. I'm fully on board with the principle that psychedelics can (and should) be used therapeutically to help with maintenance of the wondrous yet overburdened biochemical machine that is the human brain. But what should we look out for to get the most out of such an experience? Should we approach it with a particular structure in mind? Is K even the best option? (I lean towards thinking the empathic qualities of MDMA would perhaps be a better fit?)
Would love to hear what people think!
