I have been using 2g of Golden Tiger twice a week in an effort to reconnect with my traumatized dissociated parts.
I am running into the following. I'd like to know if this experience is typical:
- Most trips I have felt mildly nauseous the whole time.
- All trips I have a very high level of tension.
- Over and over, I start to nod off, then snap awake, with a feeling that it is dangerous to fall asleep.
- Feeling of paranoia. I feel like I spend about a thousand calories staying perfectly still.
- Twitchy: Like having twice as much coffee as I normally do. Or that feeling when you had a big surge of adrenaline, but nothing to use it up. Or if you have ever had TENS electro-stimulation in physio, like that everywhere.
- My ADHD gets far worse. Last trip, instead of lying still, I spent the time doing light house keeping and making supper. It took me two hours to sweep a couple rooms. "Oh, I'll just put this away." On the way back from there, something else would distract me. "Now where did I put the dustpan" and 4 things would interupt while finding the dustpan. Similarly it took half an hour to make an omelette.
- Typing is very difficult. I have to enlarge the fonts to 150% of normal size, and the twitchiness makes it hard to type.
How typical are these reactions?
Anyway, people talk about this drug as being peaceful and breaking down barriers. This is NOT a recreational drug.
My current working theory is that it is indeed breaking down barriers, and I'm blending with a very scared pre-verbal part. Or an older part under enough stress that narrative memory shut down. (I was molested at age 33 months. Experienced intermittent neglect during a good part of my childhood, and I have couple of wisps of memory of physical abuse (slammed into walls)
I am currently also doing therapy. My therapist uses a mix of Fisher's TIST (similar to IFS) as well as stuff from SE and Bruce Perry's work.
