What's the easiest and most inconspicuous way to grow?

I want to grow but I'd like it to be as hands off as possible. I don't have a whole lot of mental energy to go deep into growing them, I'd much rather just buy but I haven't been able to find any. I've read up on uncle bens. I've heard about neglect tek but haven't found easy to understand instructions. Can I have them in an opaque box under my bed or in my closet, that I only fuck with once a week, at most?
