Maria Sabina was an Oaxacan healer who used psilocybin mushrooms, for any that don't know. She believed that because westerners flooded her town seeking to use mushrooms just to have fun or to find God instead of using solely for healing as her people had done, that the mushrooms were forever ruined and tainted; that she couldn't communicate with them and heal people in the same way afterwards.
I'm curious what people think of this, and if you agree or disagree. It seems that the way mushrooms were "intended" to be used was with a guide like Maria Sabina.
