A few weeks ago, media outlets in India reported that Indian authorities might block Proton Mail in response to hoax bomb threats sent from Proton.
We've posted a short update about this on our blog, but the short version is that Proton Mail continues to be available, thanks to the support of the Swiss federal authorities.
It would have been regrettable for Proton to have been blocked due to an issue in which we share a common interest with Indian authorities to eradicate illegal usage.
We're grateful for those in the Indian government and civil society who have spoken out against the suggested Proton Mail ban in order to defend the Indian public's right to private and secure communications.
