Any UK police officers PCSO or specials help me on eye sight requirements?
Post Body

I am planning on doing a university degree on policing and criminal investigation and would hope to join the police force. However I have glasses and yes do not meet the required standards for the UK police but am greatly considering laser eye surgery to give me a better chance. I have a few questions which i cannot find out on the internet:

Do you need to have a eye test each year or once you have you medical for eye test done, you are through and don't need to a test again?

Are the requirements for specials eye sight standards the same as PC? I have seen on the met it says that specials need 6/60 while PCs need 6/36 (http://www.met.police.uk/foi/pdfs/policies/health_and_well_being_sop_eyesight_standards.pdf)
