This article https://gillianim.medium.com has some really great insights into the main concept of Project Welcome Mat: living intentionally with a “family” where there are shared values and shared responsibilities. They can vary greatly, but what they all have in common is that they are established by choice. They say “you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family.” Well, that may be true…. But you can create the family you want (but never had!)
