hey fellow d2 and pd2 lovers,

I've been trying to install plugY for PD2 and so far it's been impossible. I tried the following:

- did a clean install of english d2 and LoD (from battle.net, where its 1.14b atm)
- followed the instruction in this doc https://docs.google.com/document/d/1V-YIGP9g5Y0ZsFPZXnIoHXO0V9q4qI6ueyp00flgIPc/edit from PD2 discord
- yes I really followed the instructions step by step exactly. so I:
- installed PD2 and started it once (everything works)
- downloaded survival kit version 11.02.zip
- unzipped it
- containing files plugY.dll, PlugY.exe, PlugY.ini and the readme files copied to PD2 folder within the Diablo II folder

- copied the PlugY folder from the unzipped directory to the Diablo II folder (as instructed)
- if I then run the PlugY.exe (as admin) nothing happens. theres a loading sign at the mouse for a sec and then nothing. happens.
I tried to run it in compatibility mode (all of them, didnt help). I tried to check "always run as admin" didnt help.
If I copy this version of PlugY into the normal Diablo II folder and try to run it it says "PlugY isnt compatible with this version: 1.14b". If I reroll to patch 1.13, the same thing as in PD2 folder happens, when I try to run the PlugY.exe: nothing.

then I tried this guide, which uses a newer version of PlugY I think: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProjectDiablo2/comments/jovcjn/guide_plugy_for_singleplayer/

there the whole directory (including the PlugY folder which in guide nr. 1 goes into the Diablo 2 folder) is extracted into PD2 folder (even though one commentary says that he needed to unpack all of it into the Diablo II folder as well but still run the PlugY.exe from the PD2 folder.
also doesnt work for me - running the exe doesnt do anything either.
If I unzip this PlugY v.12.00 which is I used in the second guide into the normal Diablo II folder and update to 1.14d: it works!
but then it's only normal LoD PlugY... but I wanna play the PD2 PlugY.
I imagine this version doesn't work in the PoD, because PoD runs on 1.13.. but the until 1.13d compatible version of the first guide I linked also doesn't work (both times the exe just doesn't do anything).
Unfortunately, the exe doesn't even produce a logfile (PlugY.log), so something stops the exe from running at all or even trying to run, since no log is created?
the log in the normal Diablo II shows up once I start the RunPlugY.exe.

So with my limited knowledge I deduce that there is something wrong in the PD2 folder, which stops the PlugY.exe from running at all. But i have no idea what it could be. I reinstalled 3 times, did everything according to the instruction, triple checked everything and still nothing happens.
but I couldn't find anybody reporting the same issue I had. the only thing sort of similar I found is this:

but for this person there was at least a PlugY.log file created. So the exe at least tried to start and failed for a certain reason. for me it doesn't even start. I checked if any antirvirus program, window firewall or whatever is blocking it, and turned everything off - still no luck.

at this point I'm suspecting the hardware in my pc to be at fault? dunno what else it could be. I have a older PC I could try it on.

maybe any of you have an idea why it could be. or maybe others with the same problem will read this post... I find this extremely peculiar, but maybe someone with more knowledge of this kinda stuff can spot a simple mistake I'm not seeing.
