If you are a fan of mage errant I feel like these are your books, not as queer but the world building and the style of magic system is awesome. The magic system evolves throughout the series (plural for multiple series in the same world) due to both inworld reasons and people discovering more about it. But it can be summed up by mana has a frequency and that frequency range is used to determine your magic. The cast of characters range from aggressive to innocent and everything in between. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them and Nick Podehl is doing an excellent job at narrating his newest series legends of the tainted. Just overall I recomend them.
