Personally I’ve found that I dislike my work the most when I feel like the head of the Roman fire department under Nero, and I’ve been feeling that way the last new weeks.
But I had a meeting with C-suite and Product Directors this morning to advocate for the importance of a feature on the upcoming roadmap. Came armed with in-house data, outside research on legal requirements, dollar amounts for how much our lack of this feature cost us in revenue...and didn’t wind up having to convince anyone. They were all on board and we put together next steps, and wrapped up the meeting in 30 minutes.
It’s an immense relief. How do other folks work on building and maintaining alignment? I’d love to have these kinds of meetings all the time.
