Am I thinking about this right? (Longevity)
Post Body

So my normal commute is 54 miles which is essentially 99% highway driving and I have access to charging at work (free) and at home. The Prime’s range is 25 miles(ish) so I’m on hybrid ice the other 25.

So hypothetically if I were to put in 500k miles worth of commute, and it’s split fairly evenly between EV and Hybrid, I’m essentially taxing each systems 50/50 or 250k.

From what I understand, and everyone says, 250k on an electric motor isn’t much. And also, it’s said that highway miles have about 10% the wear on an engine and transmission that city driving does. So if I’m putting on 250k miles on an electric motor, no issue, and if I’m putting 250k of highway miles, or essentially 25k of city miles, it seems like this car would last forever given my situation.

Am I missing something?
