I am interested in doing so primarily for financial reasons to support my family, but I also think it might serve as good experience for the few different career options I have in the future. Namely, I want to become either a pastor or a therapist.
I have a rather rehabilitative outlook on what I think out to be done about the justice system, but the fact of the matter is, being a doc guard is a punitive position. And, I’ve known people who did the same job, trying to be nice; but the governing bodies seem to enforce a culture of looking down on the inmate population.
My questions are, is it even worthwhile for me to pursue this as an option? Is it inevitable that I would be brainwashed by the system so to speak before getting out? Regardless, what reasonable advice would you give to someone interested in being a doc guard ?
