Yard Sign DIY Cheap- Print at home on paper and stick to board?

Hi,
I want to do bulk yard signs and it is getting really expensive. I wanted to try DIY but want to look professional. I was thinking of buying corrugated boards in bulk and then print the 18 x 24 or something from print shop and stick it on the boards.
I am struggling with what TYPE OF print material I need to use so I can stick it and also it is weather proof when kept outside in sun or rain.
