My daughter turns 5 the day before the cut off for kindergarten. I'm debating whether or not to hold her for another year so she isn't the youngest in her class, or to just let her go. She knows her alphabet (uppercase and lowercase) entirely and the sounds they make. She can write her name. She can count to 20 and understands quantity, more or less, etc. She knows her colors very well. She is for the most part pretty well behaved around other kids, takes turns well, is potty trained. She's stayed home with me her whole life and I've done "homeschooling" since she's been 3. Im just so worried that it will be too much for her? But then I also feel like if I were to keep her another year she would be so bored. We really can't afford preschool, so I try to emulate it as much as I can, but I don't think it's enough for her. She really craves the social interaction that we are lacking. She has friends we have playdates with and can easily make new friends at parks or really anywhere. We also do classes (right now she's taking dance and preschool drama, her choices). But still. Ahh. I'm just stressing about it and would appreciate other parents input or experience with this!!
